“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived”
~Henry David Thoreau, 1854~

Just got back from a wonderful drive down to the coast. Hayley and I took Rt. 27 and took a right onto Rt. 127 down towards Reid State Park. We ended up in Five Islands area. We came upon a great little tucked away spot that had a small trail and a great pond with lily pads and lilies that were just about blooming. We found out the name of the secluded area is called The Josephine Newman Sanctuary in Georgetown. We walked along the trail there and except for the mosquito’s the place was perfect. It was cloudy and the fog was rolling in but that just gave it a more moody feel. The quiet and solitude were exactly what was needed to help me out of my funk.

On the way back we stopped at a little place called “Maine Sweets” about 10 minutes north of the sanctuary back on Rt. 127. I wanted to try one of their whoopie pies that they were advertising but they were sold out. She had made 2.5 dozen. Well I figure they must be good so I will have to come back and try them. WE ended up getting some cookies and a couple of pieces of candy. SHe makes all the chocolates as well as all the pastries. Pretty impressive! She also gave Hayley and I each a Needham candy, which went very well with the our coffee. The rest of our drive back was uneventful but very nice and relaxing.

While I still have a bit of a heavy heart, I am feeling better then the last few days. Today being out with Hayley and enjoying her company and laughs helped quite a bit. Thank you to those who have voiced your encouragement. I really do appreciate it!

I will be working all weekend but will try to post a couple of pics from today when I can.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend..

Peace
