“Still round the corner there may wait,
A new road or a secret gate”
~J.J.R. Tolkien~
Today is Hayley’s 17th birthday. I can’t believe it.. I can remember everything regarding the day she was born to a tee, as if it were just yesterday. She needed me then.. today.. not as much. I’m just starting to get used to that fact. It was a bitter pill to swallow at first and while there is still an aftertaste at times, it’s not so bad. I’m starting to look forward to having her spread her wings and see where they take her.

She has turned into a wonderful young woman. One that I am so very proud to call my daughter. She makes me laugh and knows just what to say when I didn’t realize it was exactly what I needed to hear. She’s kept me on track all these years and I think that is what I’m also a little worried about. Falling off the track, she is the light that guides me, although she is still here, the light is dimming as she is starting to diverge down a different road, on her own. I hope she finds a light to help guide her much as the light in her that I have come to know and love.

Happy Birthday Baby..

Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don’t bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality . Wake Up and Live!
